The name Visconti has for over twenty-five years been synonymous with instruments for writing extraordinary historical and technological refinement, fountain pens, ball and roller pens. Visconti offers a wide range of high quality items and strong personality. Since 1988 Visconti, the maison who has written in Florence after a forgiveness lasting over 30 years, made Made in Florence an icon of his production together with his fundamental values: passion, art and technology.
A GREAT PROPHET OF THE CIVILIZATION
For its newest creation Visconti finds once again inspiration in the great painters.
Rembrandt has succeeded like nobody else to melt in his works of art the earthly and the spiritual aspects of the human being.
His painting technique, the chiaroscuro, is now re-proposed by Visconti for the new writing instruments collection – classical and dramatic like only masterpieces are.
Fountain pen, roller ball and ballpoint range plain that reveal at a closer look chiaroscuro nuances which render unique every single pen.
The clip presents a new mechanism, completely restyled and indestructible, made of two parts only beside the spring.
Worldwide novelty is the magnetic lock, simple and efficient at the same time. In this case not only has Visconti optimized the necessary opening effort but has also conceived the system with a view to render the closing easier as well. The closure results best for everyone, even for those particularly distracted, allowing to avoid in this manner accidents such as those typical of the twist closing pens.
The metal ring has been finely engraved in the best Visconti tradition with ornamental motifs used by the artist.
The entire collection can be personalized using the well-known Visconti patent- My Pen System-with the instant application of the initials.

Collezione dedicata allo storico pittore Olandese Vincent Van Gogh.
Vincent van Gogh didn’t ask for a simply colored pen, but told us to make a pen inspired by his more famous paintings.
Be inspired by a specific painting does mean to select one by one all the resins part with a specific codification, mixing and producing by controlling very specifically the quality of the resins, their chromatic yield, their chemical composition so that would not mix in the wrong way. In fact, white and red mixed together gives pink, but sometimes we only want to remain white and red. So, working on the resins’ chemistry we obtained colors independent and freely inspired by a family or a specific subject.
The natural vegetal resins, mixed to create natural variegations, ensure that each pen is completely unique.
The Visconti Van Gogh are available in the following colors:
Visconti Van Gogh Room in Arles
Visconti Van Gogh Starry Night
Visconti Van Gogh Sunflower
Visconti Van Gogh Portrait Blue

HOMO SAPIENS FORGED IN THE VOLCANO
More than five thousand years ago with the invention of writing the pre-history of the human kind ceases and Homo Sapiens marks the eve of human history. The same age discovers the metallurgy, thus allowing the civilization of metals to sign the beginning of human evolution all the way to the invention of the wheel. The first great civilizations arose on the Nile, Tigris and Euphrates river banks and soon led to the development of sciences like algebra, geometry, astronomy, engineering.
Visconti conceived the Homo Sapiens writing instruments line for real writers. Cteristics that render it unique in the manufacturing of writing instruments. Visconti has successfully produced a material containing over 50% of pure basaltic lava, catalysed together with resin in a formula – patented thus obviously kept secret -whose extraordinary characteristics practically transforms it into a material perfectly fit to writing instruments.
Visconti lava is:
Virtually unbreakable: It has a high degree of resilience.
Flameproof - Visconti lava has a resistance to heat of over 100°C.
Slightly hygroscopic, allowing to absorb hand sweat during use.
Dense at touch, allowing the best finger-relaxing grip.
Unquestionably new in the range of materials employed in the making of fountain pens.
Inspiration was drawn from the Bronze Age for all metallic parts. The Bronze Age, almost contemporary to the invention of writing, marked the eve of human civilization. The clip, the rings and the metal accessories -with the exception of the piston only- are all in bronze: natural bronze like the antique formula, that does not require plating or protection treatments which alter its original almost pink colour and which can be easily polished with special products.
The charging high vacuum power filler is made of titanium, the only material resistant to ink aggression.
The 23 ct 950 Palladium DREAMTOUCH Nib
With Homo Sapiens Visconti introduces the first ever made 23 ct 950 palladium Dreamtouch nib.
Dreamtouch is the term we coined to define a nib that requires no pressure whatsoever in order to write, it traces in a gentle way thoughts and words for a dream handwriting.
Palladium has interesting physical features that allow the production of fountain pen nibs; its manufacturing is possible nowadays thanks to new metal-fusion technologies and to the welding of iridium tips. This metal has been the fundamental element in 1989’s Pons and Fleischmann cold fusion theory.
Palladium actually melts at much higher temperatures than gold: 1552°C against 1063°C. It is therefore obvious that this metal has better mechanical features, being more resistant than gold and that any manufacturing process involving palladium becomes a lot more challenging.
The international classification system lists only four precious metals and their related titles: platinum, palladium, gold and silver.
Value: the 23 ct 950/1000 palladium nib is the highest value ever manufactured nib in the fountain pen history. In other words, it contains 95% pure palladium against 75% pure gold in the 18 ct nib and 58% gold in the 14 ct nib.
Flexibility and Memory: are the best for any type of writing, enhanced of 30% compared to the same nib in 18 ct gold.
Resistance to ink corrosion has been improved up to 100% thanks to the pureness of the material to an extent to which no protection treatment of the plating is needed.
Originality: the palladium nib will render even more exclusive your Visconti, either as a collection piece or as a daily use fountain pen.
We think of Homo Sapiens as a fountain pen that can bring to mind a time-frame: starting from lava as generating materia, passing through bronze - recalling the beginning of the act of writing , and ending with palladium – the metal of the future and of the cold fusion.

Divina is a collection of very innovative writing instruments that carries in its DNA the Italian Renaissance, Leonardo da Vinci and the golden number (1,618), which is said to transmit the key of knowledge.
The golden ratio applied for the first time to a writing instrument has generated a revolutionary design changing the aesthetic canons of fountain pens.
Some of the distinctive elements are the pentagram and the proportion between cap and section, but the really captivating feature is the golden spiral that harmoniously envelops the pen.
These elements melt together in alchemy of forms and proportions to make a pen that can be defined as the fifth essence of elegance: so modern to seam timeless, so ancient to seam supernatural.
In one word: Divina.
Visconti Opera Vertigo Collection
Visconti has the ability to create recognizable and long-lasting pen shapes, as in the case of the Opera collection, where materials and dimensions varied in a decade of production, but the shape and style of the pen remained the same and unique.
While with Vertigo pen, Visconti's designers have created a model which doesn't hide its inspiration to company's best traditions, but at the same time Vertigo brings a new perception.
The special manufacturing of the cap and of the body creates reflective plane surfaces which run one after the other, causing a continuous change of the points of view, with a perspective's changes which almost lead a sense of vertigo.
For the first time in Visconti, this pen combines the convenience of the magnetic lock with a recall system indexed between the body and the cap, designed to keep in line the 8 alternating inclination levels which make the design of the to be so unique.
About the nibs we have several important news:
- Vertigo s the first pen of Visconti to be available with more than one nib type;
- one nib is the new high-performance steel nib of Visconti: nice shape, and one of the best performance in writing;
- the other new nib combines a classic steel structure nib with solid 14KT gold elements combined with a steel structure, thus joining the preciousness and flexibility of use of gold to the perfection of steel.

The Medici was an Italian banking family, political dynasty and later royal house during the first half of the 15th century in Florence. . Along with other families of Italy—such as the Visconti and Sforza of Milan, they inspired the birth of the Italian Renaissance.
They had a major influence on the growth of the Italian Renaissance through their patronage of the arts and humanism.
They would pay artists commissions for major works of art. The Medici patronage had a huge impact on the Renaissance, allowing artists to focus on their work without having to worry about money.
A significant amount of the art and architecture that was produced in Florence at the beginning of the Renaissance was due to the Medici.
Early on they supported the painter Masaccio and helped pay the architect Brunelleschi to rebuild the Basilica of San Lorenzo.
Other famous artists that the Medici supported include Michelangelo, Raphael, Donatello, and Leonardo da Vinci.
The Medici also supported science: the famous scientist Galileo Galilei , who also worked as a tutor for the Medici children.
Visconti and Medici path are very similar as patron of arts. Many ideas and collections from Visconti come from Florence history and blood.
It was just a matter of time that Visconti would have dedicated one of its collection to the Medici family.
The Visconti Medici is faceted with eight sides like the baptistery of Florence.
The shape is made following the rules of Divine Proportion , codified from Leonardo da Vinci under the egemony of the Medici family.
Unique is also the material, another innovation from Visconti; Acrosilk. , that is a compound of Acrylkic resin and Silk fibers.
The result is a fantastic glossy and luminescent effect with the deepness of colors of the antique celluloid.
The wooden color used it is a conscious choice and a tribute to the ancient luxury materials used in the princely Medici mansions.
All the metal parts are in solid sterling silver.
The ring is finally chiseled with the Symbol of the Medici family.
Visconti Medici - features:
Writing : Fountain Pen, Roller
Pen Size: Oversize and Regular size.
Nib :23 Kt. 950 Palladium
Fountain pen with Palladium and transparent resin body demonstrator. The tubular nib made from a capillary tube in chrome 18 kt, vacuum-filled.
- FILLING: POWER FILLER
The technical problems to solve were many starting from the lamination, the nib has numerous different thicknesses, to its own flexibility, nib tipping and writing pleasure. The key point in a tubular nib is why to make it in such unusual shape? The tubular nibs pretend to insulate the feed from surrounding air sealing it from evaporation : in one word it means a longer resistance to evaporation in uncapped position and better start even after long time of the pen capped.
No need to say that its unique design makes it absolutely desirable from anybody who loves modern art. Such incredible nib has required a material that we wanted to be at highest technical level : Chromium 18.
Chromium 18 is available in such precise measurement that the tolerance is < 0.001 mm, and allows a very precise machining while its resistance to corrosion is the highest available in metals.
To spread the use of the pen to a wider number of people Visconti has modified the inclination of the point so the nib writes correctly even if the pen is hold in vertical position.
The opening of the year 2013 has seen the birth of Salvador Dali's exposure in one of the most beautiful palaces in Florence, Palazzo Medici Riccardi, and so it was almost natural for Visconti create a surrealist artist pen. The soft watch is the most loved and best known among the Dali's iconoclastic images; the ubiquitous fluidity of time is shown not only in the form of movement, but as if it were a dance to the rhythm of the universe. All models feature the clip playback of "the dance of time." Roller and ball versions proposal is made vegetable resin in different colors, which remind the typical colours of the sculptures of Dalí.
