SPECIAL EDITION SET
THE FIFTH KING: TARQUINIO PRISCO
TARQUINIO PRISCO Also known as Lucumone was born in TARQUINIA IN 616 BC and died in ROME IN 579 BC.
LUCUMONE came from a family of wealthy merchants, and finding himself no longer at home in Tarquinia, he emigrated by a strange fate to the Eternal City. His entry into Rome is the stuff of legend: a golden chariot pulled by four splendid white horses, symbol of power and triumph. Adopted by King Anco Marzio, Tarquinio Prisco inherited his legacy and, with cunning and charisma, was chosen by the people as the first ruler of Etruscan origin. A valiant warrior and visionary strategist, he was one of the architects of Rome's expansion, helping to lay the foundations of its future greatness.
TARQUINIUS PRISCUS was the builder of the CIRCUS MASSIMO, which was destined exclusively for chariot races, and under his reign the construction of the CLOACA MASSIMA (the first example of city sewers) was also begun. Tarquinius Priscus was killed in 579 BC by the eldest of the sons of Anco Martius in the hope of becoming the new KING of ROME, but the wife of the deceased KING arranged for the people to elect his son-in-law SERVIO TULLIO as TARQUINIO PRISCO's successor.
This year the body of the pen is made of resin from Italy, combining two different colours, white and gold, creating magical shades. The white colour recalls the four Binchi Horses and the gold recalls the golden Chariot, with which, according to legend, Tarquinio entered Rome after a Victory
Exclusively distributed by Stilo Fetti and produced by Leonardo Officina Italiana, the pen - like its predecessors - is in fountain pen version only. The trim and nib are in gold laminate. The nib bears the ‘753’ logo, the name of the collection and the date of the Birth of Rome. The pen is scheduled to be released on 21 April, the date commemorating the Birth of Rome. Limited and numbered version in Roman numerals in only 100 pieces worldwide. The pen nib is available in different sizes. Extrafine, Fine, Medium, Broad and Stub .
