The products of the Bassano House meet the taste of an ever larger audience with a simple and elegant style, embellished and personalized by a varied choice of colors and materials.

Inspiration can come from the simplest of sources – often from nature itself. While marvelling at the workmanship of a rare 1930s design, we wondered what had inspired its creator. Gazing out the museum’s windows, its genesis became clearer – and the allegory of flowing water became compelling. Recreated with modern milling, gentle cascading forms bring fluency to words before they are even committed to paper

Fortuna was the Goddess of Fortune, the personification of luck according to the ancient Romans.
Fortuna's identity as the embodiment of chance events was closely tied to virtus, or strength of character.
Public officials who lacked this quality invited ill-fortune on both themselves and Rome.
At Montegrappa, it is strongly believed that luck is indubitably linked to virtue, while education is the foundation onto which an individual develops and nurtures his or her innate talents.
Montegrappa also believe that hand-writing is an essential element of the education process and an indispensable function, even in today’s hurried, digitized society. For this reason, Montegrappa pens has created the new Fortuna collection, with an eye to those who still indulge in the pleasure of writing. It is Montegrappa's wish that these pens will engender the good luck that they deserve.
Fortuna is available as a fountain pen (cartridge/converter fed ), roller ball and twist-action ballpoint pen .
It is offered exclusively in black resin, made personal by accents in a choice of three different trim finishes: palladium, rose gold or gun metal.

pens from the past, remade for the writers of today. Throughout histor y, ar tistic flair and tenacious work ethic have determined the for tunes of Venice. On Venetia, adventurous 1920s shaping captures the optimism of a region in rebir th, and a burgeoning ar tisanal industr y that was already earning a reputation for Italy ’s most coveted and reliable pens.
Handmade in the same location as the original, Venetia is full-bodied, showcasing the lathing prowess of early-era Montegrappa with bulletnose tips and dashing, gold-plated brass trims
Reproduced in diamond-engraving, our 1928 ‘touring’ logo was a denomination of origin prized throughout Italy, and marks the first recorded use of the Montegrappa name

Montegrappa Elmo Ambiente: the classic with a conscience.
A range of artisanally blended resins gives new perspectives on a classic writing silhouette. Exotic, semi-translucent finishes offer insight into the science of fine writing – and a vision for doing things differently. Enjoy the honest, all-round performance of a writing tool that helped democratize writing. Available in fountain pen, rollerball and twist-action ballpoint modes Recovered materials from the beverage, food and cosmetics industries are repurposed into three spectacular finishes: Ocean, Charcoal and Kaleido Natural imperfections give every pen its own distinct personality. Take yours anywhere, with a complement of recycled accessories made by artisanal stationers, Arbos To create the Elmo Ambiente, Montegrappa has collaborated with Smile Plastics, a studio specialising in innovative architectural surfaces – whose client list includes many of the leading names in conscious design and fashion.
Two colour ways are being made using a resin made from recycled packaging. “Ocean” celebrates marine beauty, while “Charcoal” is a wistful alternative to the anonymity of black-body writing instruments. Each features a translucency that offers a view onto the pen’s internal mechanisms and a reflection on its origins.
“We were drawn by Smile’s resourcefulness and the raw honesty they bring to their products,” explains Aquila. As an enterprise founded by artisans, the Welsh studio has the kind of profile that Montegrappa looks for throughout its supply chain. Most of its collaborations are conducted with local Venetian businesses and span industries ranging from jewellery, marquetry, gastronomy and art.
For the Elmo Ambiente, Montegrappa has also commissioned a suite of desk accessories from a local artisanal stationery supplier.
Located only eight kilometres from Bassano, Arbos helped create products from reconstituted leather, textiles and paper – items that expand Montegrappa’s exploration of more sustainable production methods.
‘Elmo’-brand pens were famous throughout Italy in the early 20th century. Built in Montegrappa’s present-day factory, they helped lay many of the foundations for modern writing culture. Expressive resin and stainless-steel hardware echoes the Elmo 02’s distinctive angular lines. Helm’s fluted clip design channels the panache of the 1920s, with early hallmarks of Art Deco.
Swirling resin colours of Sorapis and Asiago provide resort-ready alternatives to the formality of standard jet black. No two segments are exactly alike. The Elmo 02 is available in three writing modes: cartridge/converter fountain pen (with six nib grades), rollerball, and a slimline, twistaction ballpoint.
Pens are personal, held in the hand – but not all hands are the same size. With the ever-increasing appeal of our entry-level, affordable staple, that modern classic called “Parola”, a need for a more compact version has emerged. Parola Slim represents a brand-new, slimmer form – to increase its suitability to the widest audience.
Discreet and suitable for all attire, like Armonia and Felicità, the new Parola Slim is made with traditional black resin, with trim in either standard shiny stainless steel or plush satin ruthenium.
Joining the new Parola Slim is a deluxe Duetto version for those who yet wish to add a frisson of glamour, an extra hint of panache. Expanding the choices in the Parola Slim range, it is crafted with black resin for the barrel and a cap made entirely in satin stainless steel. A simple change of cap creates an entirely different attitude.
As with all fine offerings from Montegrappa, the Parola Slim and Parola Slim Duetto ranges will be available as fountain pen, rollerball and ballpoint pens. The Parola fountain pen is both cartridge- and converter-fed, and its steel nib

Montegrappa is best known for designing pens beyond the fantasies – and budgets – of the average handwriting enthusiast, but the Italian company’s latest release sees a return to its more modest roots and the vision of its original co-founder, Heinrich ‘Elmo’ Helm.
The factory that today produces the world’s most indulgent pens was, from 1912 to 1928, leading the charge to democratise writing. Back then, portable pens were an emerging technology fraught with problems and still seeking wide acceptance as tools of knowledge and networking.
Helm was the company’s first technical director – a figure with an industriousness and optimism reminiscent of today’s tech entrepreneurs. His know-how and charisma inspired the fledgling company to name its first products after him, and Elmo pens would go on to be mainstays of Italian offices and schools for decades to come.
The Elmo 01 is a compact, all-round pen that recalls the international style popularised by Bauhaus throughout the 1920s. During that era, Helm would steer his company away from the archetypes of dipping pens and design new solutions that catered for contemporary lifestyles. Portability, reliability and efficiency were his mantra.
In 2019, pens are again being sought out as essential items of every day carry and the Elmo 01 is among the first European-made pens to cater for this resurgence. Handmade from resin and stainless steel, it brings robust, all-round performance, honest simplicity and a century of know-how to prestige stationery.
The Elmo 01 is available as a fountain pen, rollerball and ballpoint pen.
