Over a century of unmatched artisan skill has already passed for this prestigious brand, known worldwide for its creativity and its all-Italian style. Montegrappa produces writing instruments in the same historic building on the banks of the River Brenta. Originally known as ELMO, it has benefited from a group of local talents, a workforce able to produce meticulously crafted objects, style and craftsmanship, always focusing on excellence.

  • MONTEGRAPPA EXTRA OTTO...

Montegrappa Extra Otto - New Colors

Bassano Del Grappa: Among the many signature details of Montegrappa products, including the pocket clip with roller for easy ingress to and egress from pockets, the octagonal shape has long been a part of the Italian house’s design language.
In 2012, the year of its centenary, Montegrappa revived the use of the eight-sided geometric shape that recurs throughout its designs.

Octagon now characterises numerous Montegrappa writing instruments, including the Reminiscence, the Privilege, the Symphony, the Emblema and the NeroUno.
For 2014, the octagon has been applied to the most enduring of the company’s pen ranges: the Extra 1930.

In adapting an octagonal cross-section to the legendary Extra 1930, Montegrappa has created the Extra Otto.
The octagon is the example of geometric perfection that has long provided Montegrappa with a timeless motif, one that also provides its own unique feel and level of comfort for writers who bond with their favourite pens.

Made of celluloid, the natural material that is employed in the manufacture of the finest pen barrels and caps, Extra Otto is offered as both a fountain pen and a roller ball in two exceptional new colour patterns: "Lapis" and "Butterfly Blue".

All Extra Otto fountain pens are fitted with 18k gold nibs.
The trim on all Extra Otto writing instruments is made from sterling silver, and Montegrappa’s signature octagonal motif is engraved on the cap’s band.
Extra Otto’s clip, fitted with the company’s roller, also boasts its own secret: a red lacquer backing.

Available as a limited edition of only 888 fountain pens and 888 rollerballs in each colour.

  • MONTEGRAPPA GNOMO

All it takes is a particular customer request to get us thinking.
After all, it’s the customers who buy and use the pens, so they should know what they want! One client asked for something that was both tiny and handy to use, genuinely small enough for any pocket or purse, but which behaved and felt like a full-sized writing instrument when in use.
So we came up with GNOMO.
Italian for, yes, “gnome”, the new GNOMO is a retractable fountain pen that measures only 8cm – that’s a teensy-weensy 3¼ in – when closed! The mechanism is, if we say so ourselves, ingenious.
By twisting it outward, turning the nib junction the other way around and screwing it back into the barrel, you have a full-size, fully-functional,
feverishly fantastic, fabulously fun fountain pen!
GNOMO is made with a main barrel of celluloid offered in three different colours: Yellow, Red and Charcoal Black.
All metal fittings are made of Sterling Silver, personalised with a tweed laser-carving, which adds a cool, vintage look to the pen.
To keep it slim and trim, GNOMO is designed without a signature clip, to stay faithful to the notion of maximum of comfort and hindrances.
The fountain pen holds a single ink cartridge, and the nib
    is made in 18k Gold.
Strictly available as a Limited Edition of only 1000 units each of the three stunning celluloid colours, every GNOMO pen comes in charming matchbox-like wooden packaging – including a cuddly, furry pen-pouch for protection.

  • LA VERDE ROMA 753...

    753
    La Verde Roma

In this 2018 we have decided to revive our brand 753 that takes its name from the year of foundation of Rome.
A recent study, revealing Rome to be the greenest city in Europe, has captured our attention and provided inspiration for this collection.
The next step has been to choose the best material to evoke this record and we have unanimously selected the celluloid. No doubt the most loved material of all for its unique qualities. The shortage, the difficulty in the production, the curing and storage of the celluloid makes it very high value and sought after by all the fountain pen enthusiasts.
The well known Italian company Montegrappa is one of the oldest and most active Italian companies and has in stock a great variety of beautiful celluloids, so the dream has come true.
The green malachite celluloid could not be more appropriate for our purpose.
Then, I could not let this chance go by and begged Montegrappa to do something they have never made and I have always dreamt of: an Extra model with the celluloid section!
First they were sceptic but, after a while, forced by my determination, they have accepted the challenge and enjoyed it. The result is now in front of your eyes in the photos attached. A beautifully crafted writing jewel made of an intense, deep marbled greeen celluloid enhanced by the sterling silver trims.
Piston filling system and a special #8 size 18kt solid gols nib are the perfect attributes to match the beauty of the celluloid and the city! A classical floreal decor is engraved on both the nib and the cap band.
    Limited to only 100 pieces

  • MONTEGRAPPA EXTRA OTTO...

Montegrappa EXTRA OTTO Sapphirus Limited Edition

New powers for a rare Montegrappa silhouette: the Extra Otto returns, resplendent in deep blue lapis lazuli.
With a shimmer resembling the heavens, this metamorphic stone has featured in jewellery design for more than six thousand years.
Egyptian ornamentations underline the ancient origins and supernatural presence of the Montegrappa Extra Otto Sapphirus.

Throughout the ages, aesthetes have been captivated by lapis lazuli and its heavenly appearance. Now this semi-precious treasure provides a spectacular casing for the Extra Otto: a pen with a cult following all of its own.
The ancient Egyptians revered lapis lazuli’s ultramarine colour and rare, shimmering finish.
Its supposed healing powers were used to treat everything from insomnia and melancholy, to fever and snake-bites.
Capband ornamentations depict a winged scarab and Eyes of Horus –symbols of power and good health.
Scarabs carved from lapis lazuli were left in tombs to substitute a beating heart in the afterlife.
The first Montegrappa writing instrument ever carved from stone uses innovative design and special machining to optimise durability and weight.
The stone is diamond-cut into a wafer-thin shell and strengthened with a carbon-fibre core.
An edition size of 192 fountain pens references the 192 known chapters of the Book of Death – a series of manuscripts written by Egyptian scribes for navigating the transition into the afterlife.
